Many users don’t realize that the processor (CPU) in a laptop is one of the most power-hungry components. When you run heavy programs or games, the CPU requires more power to deliver stable performance and speed. But what’s even more important is that incorrect system settings can cause the CPU to consume more energy than necessary—even during simple tasks like web browsing or running light software.
That’s why in today’s episode, I’d like to share two methods that will help you reduce your laptop’s power consumption—especially when you're not using resource-heavy applications or games. This directly helps lower your electricity bill.
Let’s begin, God willing:
Solution 1 (Without any software):
-
Go to the battery icon in the taskbar.
-
Right-click it and select “Power Options” as shown in the image.
-
When the window opens, choose the “Power Saver” plan, then click OK.
Solution 2 (Using a program):
-
Download and install a small program called Granola.
-
After installation, you’ll see the program icon in the taskbar.
-
Right-click the icon and choose “Power Policy.”
-
From the options, select “Miserware” as shown in the image.
With these simple steps, you’ve optimized your laptop to consume less power, helping you noticeably reduce your electricity bill.
See you in a new tutorial soon, God willing. Peace be upon you all!
